Catalogue Helen Levitt

This publication on Helen Levitt, coinciding with the City at Play exhibition, showcases her entire oeuvre. In addition to her most famous photographs taken in her native New York, the publication also includes rarely featured earlier works from her first year with a Leica and all fifty photographs from the original edition of her classic photobook A Way of Seeing from 1965, including prints that Levitt herself kept.

Essays by various multifaceted experts and specialists focusing on important thematic, technical, and biographical aspects of Levitt's life and work, including an examination of the photographs she took during her trip to Mexico in 1941, her innovative use of color in the 1950s, and her later work from the 1980s. This offers insight into one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century.
